Skating, Chess, and Falling

This was a pretty good weekend. We all went rollerblading on Thursday at the trail in Waseca. We made it almost all the way through just fine, except that at the end. I crashed with little Alex on a downhill by the school right at the end of the trail. I was going pretty fast and I told Alex to move and he moved right so I could pass on the left, but I messed up and tried to pass on the right and we crashed. We were going pretty fast and Alex skinned his knee and elbow. Tough little guy didn't cry though, and I feel like crap for causing the whole thing.



On Friday, Lizzy finally went out to the Waterville trail with us, she and the kids were on bikes and I went on rollerblades, It was fun, but there were a lot of branches on the trail so I had to be extra careful not to fall--again. Here's a pic of us on the trail.






On Saturday Luis, Rachel, and Cris came over and we broke out the new chess timer I got in the mail earlier that day. I beat Luis a few times before Cris got here, but then Cris came and kicked both our asses. We were playing fast games slamming on the timer to save as much time as we could. I didn't beat Cris with the timer, but I did stalemate him when he took all my pawns. We need to get some more people over--Mario && Puss?? Bring it ladies.


Anyway, today Sunday we woke up at like 2 since we were up till about 5am. We took the kids out to the skate park so they could finally use the skateboards we bought them a year ago. They actually started picking it up pretty quick. They can't do much yet, but they can at least balance enough to ride for a while. Check out the video below. See you next week.
