It's the weekend before my birthday and we decided to go down to Waseca to celebrate and watch UFC 97. We went to Manuel's for his own birthday celebration and we hung out with my Mom, Nancy, Cris, and Iris. One cool thing we learned is that Keila can really hool-a-hoop. She is a natural. Liz, lil Alex, and I tried but we ain't got that skill so I don't know where she got it.
We went to Club 57 for the fight and got decent seats. Crappily the signal cut out a couple of times and we were left without a picture for a bit. Jeff showed up for the fight and Eli came by also. Liddell got KO'd by Rua. Liddell was winning but he just doesn't have the chin anymore and got caught by a decent but not spectacular hook. He collapsed and got pounded out. Silva fought Leites in what turned out to be quite a mismatch. The fight was very boring for the first couple of rounds as Leites refused to engage in any sort of credible stand-up. A couple of times Leites just dropped to the ground in the hopes of what, that Silva was just going to follow? I think Silva put on a good show from the third round on, but the crowd disagreed.
Anyway, we ended up at Cris's after the fight. We had a good time bullshitting for a while. Found out Iris is preggers, good for them. Can't say I miss having an infant though, it's tough. Jeff had a few drinks and a pretty good time. He ended up crashing on the couch overnight. A shout out to Jeff for coming through.
Good times, good times. We're gonna be heading out next weekend again for Iris's birthday.
