I've been to a few luncheons at work where we get a free
Mexican/Southwest meal. The way it works is people come up, grab a
plate and serve themselves some food. Almost invariably though, most
people grab a tortilla put it on their plate, then proceed to pile on
a mountain of beans, rice, chicken & guacamole. People then sit down
and try to force the tortilla into some sort of taco shape with all
the food inside it and fit it into their mouths. I guess I can see
how this would come about since Chipotle does the same thing for their
burritos. I think most hispanics, including me, would put the tortilla
aside serve ourselves some food (not one layer on top of the other)
then either use peices of the tortilla to grab food, or use a fork to
eat, biting from the tortilla as we go. It's pretty interesting how
eating mexican food in MN somtimes means just cramming everything into
a huge burrito or taco, but hey, whatever works.

Ah, a fellow connoisseur, that sounds like some good eatin'! I can't wait to go to Tx and get me some of that.
