Broke a Month and Bloodied a Nose

Finally, I'm back! Ok, so our internet has been shitty lately, our damn neighbor's router is acting up so we can't get our free internet. I feel like knocking and saying hey lady, reset your freakin' router. Yes, I broke down and got my own internet (secured it immediately) plus cable since football season is back.

We had a b-day party for my mom a few weeks ago, it was pretty cool. I feel kinda bad though, the party was her idea and I feel bad for not thinking about it first, or at all. Hey we did help a lot though (mostly Lizzy, thanks babe!!) so that was good.

Oh yeah, Liz and the kids are back. It's nice having everyone home. We had a good 3-4 weeks before Lizzy started school. Liz started school again this week and we are very busy. Mijo's doing football, Lizzy's working part time, and working longer hours at my new job. That's another thing, I started at WLB and it's really great. I really enjoy the work and the people are very cool.

So we've all been wanting to get some gloves and Mario and I decided to finally get some mma gloves and headgear. We threw them on today and went at it. It was pretty good, you get hit and feel it, but it's not that bad with the head gear. You do get hit good though. The head gear protects your head and part of your face, there's still some exposed areas--namely the nose. Mario got me good and I ended up with a bloody nose, didn't really hurt too much, but with a nose like mine it's just bound to happen. :--P We both got some minor scrapes from the gloves where the head gear didn't cover up, but nothing major. The nose bled for a bit too, but like I said it wasn't painful just some bleeding. I wonder how the mma fighters do it, I don't think I've ever seen a nose bleed in the ring.

Mario's thinking we should switch to boxing gloves instead of mma gloves--probably a good idea. Me and Mario are the lightest guys, everyone else is 25 and 50 pounds heavier and that would definitely leave us at a major disadvantage. Those mma gloves have minimal padding and basically protect the hands. We're doing this for recreation so it would be better to level the playing field as much as possible. Maybe the heavier guys could hop on one foot when they throw with us little guys. ;-)
