Kung Fu

right... so my neigbor's brother drives around a big white van for a karate school right. Hey, I like mma, want to put my son in karate, so I ask if he trains or runs a school. Turns out he's the owner and head of the karate school and trains in kung fu. Aright cool, I don't know anything about kung fu so I ask what it's about and if he's gotten more business with the rise of mma. Guess what? The dude hates mma, he says it's all fake, calls it the new WWF (at this point I almost bust out laughing). He says people who fight mma are not real fighters (his proof was that they have rules like no throat strikes and that there's not many deaths like in boxing). I guess he only trains for real fights where apparently he tries to kill or maim anyone he fights with eye gouges and throat strikes. right, so I sit there and make my case for mma, where more than a few fights end on the feet with ko's or stoppages but he's not swayed. I could barely keep myself from cracking up. I didn't realize but there's a big dislike of mma from many kung fu guys. All i know is there's no kung fu dudes in mma, hmm wonder why.
